BSSV Beading Bits
We had a great time at last month’s meeting. We broke up into different groups to learn various skills taught by our talented BSSV members; Barb, Tammy & Mary. We had a great time getting together as a group to learn new things. We all wish we could bead and create things everyday, but life gets in the way. Always remember even though we may have programs scheduled, members always can hve open beading if they wish!!
Also, since we do 2 and 3 classes at a time, we feel members are torn between what they want to take. Don’t worry! Look for a retake on the classes that were held in January at a later time in the year!. Welcome new member Janice Wetzel! Look forward to a fun and exciting year with your new beading friends! Don’t forget to bring beads for the bead jar. Our winner last month was Sharon Vasquez-Hubbard! Happy Beading!!
Scheduled for our February meeting is Bead Historian Ann Cipriano. She is the original founder of BSSV. She goes around to various locations and speaks about the history of beads, vintage beads & how they are made . She will also bring from her collection a variety of beads to sell. All money that is collected will go to fighting hunger in Haiti! It always feels good to buy beads, but it is even better when the money goes to a great cause!
Virginia Beach Craft Market is March 16-18. Check with Joan Geller if you would like to volunteer. We also have the Quilt Show coming up at the Hampton Convention Center. It is February 23-26. Be sure to check out these events and show support to local artist and spread the word about BSSV!
Also coming up in the near future is Kat Allison! She will be teaching BSSV members how to make handmade closures and chain links!! She is always fun, full of energy and an inspiration to be around! Stay tuned for details.
Don’t forget that Bead Haven is closing in March. She will be having sales through the end of March. Be sure to stop by and wish her well and check out the deals!
