September 2011 Newsletter

I hope all our BSSV members survived Hurricane Irene without to many problems. If you had lost power, I hope it did not take long for VA Power to restore it. I was fortunate not to have any issues what so ever unlike during Isabel when I lost power for 2 weeks. I hope most found this storm not to be as bad and used it creatively. Annual August Bead Sale was a great success! This is the bead sale that as a new member and new to beading, I was able to get a great stock of beads at such a great price! I look forward to this sale every year to boost my own inventory with beads that you normally don’t see elsewhere.

Besides the bead sale this past month, members turned in their Bracelet Blanks. This is one of the two challenges we have going on. The other challenge, The Annual Challenge is due at our September meeting. This is the one that we can choose the wire, non jewelry or Tammy’s challenge. We will have a guest at our next meeting. Her name is Cyndie Krohn . She teaches at Tada. She will demo wire work for a cabochon.  After you see the demo and if you are interested in taking the class, you can sign up for it at Tada. The cost for the class, including material is $35.
